What are Operational Groups?

Operational Groups, main actors in the implementation of the EIP-AGRI (European Innovation Partnership for Agricultural Productivity and Sustainability), are one of the key tools in the execution of the Strategic Plan of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) 2023-2027 to promote innovation in the agri-food and forestry sector within the European context. These are groups of agents with different profiles and common interests, such as farmers, livestock breeders, companies, research or training and dissemination centers, who associate to launch an innovation project with the aim of providing a joint and multisectoral response to a problem or need.

Through the Resolution of August 5, 2024, of the Spanish Agricultural Guarantee Fund, O. A. (FEGA) which calls for aid for the granting of subsidies for the execution of general interest innovation projects by supra-autonomous operational groups of the European Innovation Partnership for Agricultural Productivity and Sustainability (EIP-AGRI), within the framework of the CAP Strategic Plan of Spain (PEPAC), called in advance in the year 2023

the operational group “Biotechnological development of pre and probiotics for animal feed (poultry and pork) from alperujo fiber and other horticultural by-products” (OLIVEBIOME) with a total budget of €598,609.05, receives a grant of €591,393.45 co-financed 80% by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and 20% by funds from the General State Administration, as established by Royal Decree 169/2018, of March 23.

The General Directorate of Rural Development, Innovation and Forest Policy is the managing authority responsible for the application of the corresponding EAFRD and national aid.
